Desk Doctor - Detects, prevents and rehabilitates Repetitive Strain Injury

Desk Doctor exercises

As well as maintaining your overall upper body health, Desk Doctor detects your risk areas and focuses on rehabilitating them.

Take action before it hurts

We develop RSI from working in restricted ways for long periods, such as intensive work at the computer. This causes the muscles to fatigue rendering them more susceptible to micro traumas (strain).

Exercise treatment plan

  • 1. Must target problems
  • 2. Needs a medical assessment

Over the course of days, weeks and years these repetitive strains will change the balance of tension, strength and flexibility of a muscle. These muscle imbalances form the beginning of a whole host of other ‘RSI disorders.' By the time you feel pain, the problem has already gone beyond a simple muscular imbalance.

Every Desk Doctor exercise has a specific purpose

Desk Doctor incorporates the analytical tools used by specialists to detect your muscle imbalances early, in many cases before you are even aware they exist. Every Desk Doctor exercise has a very specific purpose for a specific muscle. Through performing specific lengthening, strengthening and flexibility exercises unique to your needs, these imbalances are addressed directly and powerfully.

The positive role of rest (passive tools)

Desk Doctor tracks the short pauses you take while working and increases your Health Score accordingly. Even taking very short rest breaks of about half a minute can give the muscles a chance to recover from fatigue. Making short rest breaks a part of your daily work routine will help ward off some of the effects of exhaustion. This passive approach alone, however, is often not enough in today’s high paced work environment.

The profound importance of exercise (active tools)

Active tools must also be incorporated. It is well known that stretching is important in getting blood to the muscles and protecting against fatigue. Desk Doctor incorporates active exercise tools for increasing blood flow, improving flexibility and building strength specific to your determined needs. Specific exercises must be done to prevent the particular conditions for which you may be at risk. Where RSI already exists, a more intense rehabilitation plan will need to be applied and Desk Doctor provides the tools to do exactly that.
